Some issues we should all pay attention to.

Act now to prevent President George W. Bush and Congress from reducing servicemen and -women, their families to indigent, charity patients. In January, Congress is reducing the deficit on their backs, by cutting TRICARE doctor's pay 5.1 percent. Then, TRICARE will pay doctors 25 percent to 35 percent less than other insurance policies, making it very difficult to find a doctor who will treat TRICARE patients.Also, cutting TRICARE doctor's pay undermines the All-Volunteer Force. If you were serving your fourth tour in Iraq's Triangle of Death, and your family was denied medical treatment because of TRICARE's low doctor reimbursement, would you re-enlist?
When America sends troops to war, they shouldn't have to worry whether their families will find a TRICARE doctor, or whether their current TRICARE doctor will drop them.
The only sacrifice 99 percent of Americans will make, for the war against Islamic terrorists, is losing their wartime tax cuts if they aren't extended in 2010!
Also, the House has approved only $7 million for the Veterans Brain Injury Center which requested $19 million. The Center conducts brain injury research and treats traumatic brain injuries, the signature wound of the war on terrorism. Proponents of increased funding say they are shocked to see cuts in the treatment of bomb blast injuries in the midst of a war. Lincoln, said: " ...to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan ..."
E-mail President Bush: president@whitehouse.gov; our Congressmen: www.house.gov, www.senate.gov asking them to stop the January 5.1 percent TRICARE cut. Make TRICARE a separate entity; increase doctor's pay, so most will accept it. Provide $19 million for Veterans Brain Injury Center. Write Letters to the Editor. Ask your friends to do the same.
